ECI’s Nationwide Business Ethics Survey® (NBES®) generates the U.S. benchmark on ethical conduct in corporations. Clearly, every company entity is immediately affected by the individual’s moral and ethical stance – and any distinction between business and personal ethics is itself arguably an indictment of that individual stance because it implies some degree of double standards.
The arguments tend to go as follows: (1) there are severe issues on this planet, equivalent to poverty, conflict, environmental degradation, and so forth; (2) any agent with the resources and knowledge essential to ameliorate these problems has an ethical responsibility to take action, assuming the costs they incur on themselves usually are not great; (three) corporations have the sources and knowledge essential to ameliorate these issues without incurring great costs; subsequently, (four) corporations ought to ameliorate these issues.
Ethicists analyzed and defended staff’ rights, the right to strike, the moral status of comparable price in the market, what constitutes bribery and whistle blowing, and so on.
