How to Become an Environmental Steward The term environmentalism is also known as environmental rights, and it is basically defined as a broad or wide social movement, philosophy and ideology which is commonly based on the concerns of environmental protection, as well as the improvement of the environment’s health. To be more specific, the term environmentalism and the ones who practices it advocates the lawful restoration, preservation and improvement of the natural environment, and that includes the act of protecting the diversity of the plants and animals and control or prevent pollution. The term recognized as the most important and essential part of the environmentalist movement’s success is the environmental awareness. Some of the common ways and tools used by the environmentalist movements to promote environmental awareness to the public includes environmental brochures and books, inspirational seminars and group learning or discussions. Some project ideas that an environmental steward may practice include investing in an appropriate technology such as clean power, buying reusable products like reusable bags and glass bottles, avoiding the use of plastic bottles and paper towels, composting and recycling to cut down waste production, supporting local farmers by buying organic food, and riding their bicycle or walking instead of driving motor vehicles to cut down on greenhouse gas emissions.
